About Us

LeaderMIM™ has been committed to the MIM industry for more than 10 years. The world-class testing equipment allows us to test the powder composition, particle size distribution, hardness, as well as the yield strength, ultimate tensile strength and salt spray test of MIM products at in our own laboratory.

Our R&D team is composed of a young team of 10 people, of which 3 are in powder materials, the other 3 are in powder metallurgy, and the remaining 4 are in MIM. We are also cooperating with Hebei University of Science and Technology in powder material metallurgy. ,besides, we also cooperated experts from Taiwan and Beijing Nonferrous Researchers.

We have EIOS 3D metal printers which can allow us to make rapid mold for trials, it can speed up the test before mass production.

MIM

What is MIM:

Metal injection molding (MIM) is an advanced metal manufacturing technology that combines the advantages of two traditional processes, plastic injection molding and powder metallurgy. Many products with high performance requirements use MIM, involving industries such as electronics, people's livelihood, auto parts, medical equipment, military industry, and aerospace. Such as mobile phones, electronic radiators, sealed packaging, junction boxes, industrial tools, optical fiber connectors, fluid spray systems, sports equipment, hard drives, automotive fuel supply and ignition systems, dental equipment and tooth reinforcement tools, pharmaceutical equipment, pumps, Surgical instruments, aerospace and defense systems, etc.

MIM (Metal Injection Molding) is the abbreviation for metal injection molding. It is a forming method in which a plasticized mixture of metal powder and its binder is injected into a mold. It is to first mix the selected powder with the binder, and then granulate the mixture and then inject the required shape.

LeaderMIM

MIM process:

The MIM process combines the flexibility of injection molding design with the high strength and integrity of precision metals to achieve a low-cost solution for extremely complex geometric components.

The MIM process is divided into four unique processing steps (mixing, molding, debinding and sintering) to realize the production of parts, and determine whether surface treatment is required according to the characteristics of the product.

The MIM manufacturing process generally includes: mixing and pelletizing, injection molding, debinding, sintering, and secondary treatment, etc.

Main technical characteristics of MIM process:

● It is suitable for the forming of various powder materials, and the product application is very wide;

● The utilization rate of raw materials is high, and the degree of production automation is high, which is suitable for continuous mass production.

● It can directly form small parts with complex geometric shapes (0.03g~200g);

● The parts have high dimensional accuracy (±0.1%~±0.5%) and good surface finish (roughness 1~5μm);

● The product has high relative density (95-100%), uniform structure and excellent performance;

MIM has advantages over other processes

Comparison between MIM and traditional powder metallurgy

MIM can manufacture products with complex shapes and avoid more secondary machining.

MIM products have high density, good corrosion resistance, high strength and good ductility.

MIM can combine 2 or more PM products into one metal product, saving materials and processes.

IMIM and machining comparison

MIM design can save material and reduce weight.

MIM can repeatedly crush and use the injected gate material without affecting product performance and high material utilization.

MIM uses molds to form complex products at one time, avoiding multiple processing procedures.

MIM can manufacture parts with complex shapes that are difficult to machine.

IMIM compared with precision casting

MIM can manufacture thin-walled products, the thinnest can be 0.2mm.

The surface roughness of MIM products is better.

MIM is more suitable for making thin blind holes and through holes.

MIM greatly reduces the workload of secondary machining.

MIM can quickly manufacture small parts in large quantities and at low cost.
